A few weeks ago, I wrote about an artist I found on Etsy who I fell immediately in love with. (If you want a refresher, read the post here.) Based in San Francisco, Astrid comes from a family of creators and artisans and the apple obviously doesn’t fall far from the tree. She grew up learning how to weave, throwing on a potter’s wheel and blowing glass…incorporating all these mediums into jewelry. With a background in Medical and Cultural Anthropology and Art, she spends her days as a Child Life Specialist and her evenings quietly embroidering while her little one sleeps. The passion she has for creativity and creating is as beautiful as it is inspiring. She lives by the mantra ‘you don’t need much else if you’ve got a great piece of jewelry on’ and you won’t see me arguing.
