Spring collections are pretty easy to get excited about. There is the introduction of everything pastel and candy colored that makes everything feel whimsical and up-beat. Last Spring, while I was knee-deep in fashion studies, I wondered what designers do in order to properly make their collections at this time of year stand out when the palettes can be somewhat predictable. Not that I am complaining, of course!
Jenni Kayne has stepped in this year with a different answer. You won’t find the pinks and lavenders in this collection and you might even miss the blue in the chambray shirt and the mint green accent color. The collection is easy and wearable and transitional and, I’m not gonna lie, gives me a whole new color palette to consider.
