Mermaid Of Honor.

3 Aug

Wedding season is fully upon us, as documented in my post here about weddings of women I wish I knew, and I’m paying extra-close attention this year.  My best friend in all the world is getting married next summer and has asked me to be her Maid of Honor.  I couldn’t be happier.  I’ve known this girl since birth (literally, she’s a year older than me so she’s known me for even longer) and there is only one way I can explain how big a deal it is that I’ve been awarded this role.  All my life, the only certainties I’ve known are the people who are my family, that my eyes are blue and the only job I ever knew I would definitely have would be that of my lovely Allie’s Maid of Honor.

Bride-to-be  in the back. Maid of Honor in the front. Probably the coolest kids in town.

So with my eyes a bit more open to the goings ons and details of all things wedding, I was so excited when I saw this post from another incredible lady I know, Lil Hoot, a fellow impending Maid of Honor.  Now, Lil Hoot (aka Sarah) is the queen of events and had sent me some pictures months ago of the set up to this party and I went giddy.  This bridal shower puts all other bridal showers to shame (bad news for moi but I’ll give it a damn good go) and I loved the accompanying story behind all the little details (i.e. mermaids) that made this party so memorable.

Please go and read the full story here and follow Lil Hoot because she is a wealth of knowledge, adorable ideas and pure freakin’ joy.
