The Melodies of Melanie Pain.

11 Jul

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook then you’ll know that I had the pleasure of getting to see one of my favorite artists, Saint Saviour, perform in both London and Paris in the space of a week during my travels.  Now though that may sound a bit groupie-ish, I assure you that she is the one obsessed with ME.  That or my timing during my jet setting was impeccable.  Believe what you want  :)

Anyway, Saint Saviour was amazing as usual which goes without saying.  I had the pleasure of bringing some of my fellow classmates and lovely blogger Jenna from Paris Cheapskate to the gig and it was a brilliant evening.  And though another blog post of the lovely artist herself would be very well-deserved, I am going to give her a bit of a break today and highlight one of her support acts that was just adorable and beautiful as one can get.

Melanie Pain was mesmerizing in a way that makes you feel like you are watching your super cool friend on stage while she not only relates to you but also makes you wish you could be like her.  She switches between singing in French and English while her voice keeps this sweet sing-song quality.  It’s ever so French and ever so stunning.  I wonder if she wants to be my friend…

Check out a few of her songs below, including a super cute cover of Blur’s ‘Girls & Boys’.

And I have to give Saint Saviour some major props for the cover of Siouxsie and the Banshees track ‘Happy House’ she ended her headline set with…I have been dancing to it ever since.  WHAT A TUNE.  The lady herself has a few more upcoming European dates which you need to check out if you have the chance.
