Celebrate Spring.

22 Mar

There are a few more posts to come about what I got up to in San Miguel.  Cultural experiences, a visit with an incredible artist and when I pretended I was a chef.  But I got reports back from my parents today, who are still in San Miguel, about a celebration that I am so upset that I missed.

To celebrate the first day of Spring, all the little ones of San Miguel dress up (or are dressed up by their parents) as flowers and animals, mostly butterflies and ladybugs, and take a little parade route through the town and then around the central Jardin. DOES IT GET ANY MORE ADORABLE?!  Well, it did…when the photo my parents sent me of this little ladybug with a bit of attitude landed in appeared.

HAPPY SPRINGTIME EVERYONE!
